The bar “just-us” in the picturesque Bad Salzhausen welcomes its guests with a new Fusion Bar concept starting from April 1, 2022. Using the art of maceration, new and unique spirits with various flavors are crafted here, serving as the basis for exclusive cocktails. In many parts of Germany, the bar is truly unique, promising cocktail enthusiasts an exclusive experience. The Castlewood Hotels & Resorts group currently operates eight hotels in different regions of Germany and plans to introduce additional Fusion Bar concepts in other properties within the group. The bar is named after the chemist Justus von Liebig, who, in the 19th century, not only discovered the healing power of the local saline springs but also contributed to the maceration process with his research on plants and their effects on certain substances and minerals. Based on this knowledge, the Fusion Bar combines pure drinking alcohol or spirits such as gin, whiskey, or vodka with various ingredients such as herbs or fruit, not just by simple mixing but through the mentioned maceration process. In this method, the roots or fruits are not dissolved in alcohol, but only their essential oils and active ingredients are extracted and absorbed. Physically, “maceration” involves the extraction of specific substances and flavors from the base material. Guests of the Fusion Bar “just-us” at Kurhaushotel Bad Salzhausen can look forward to exquisite cocktails based on various spirit creations, such as:

– Earl Grey Gin
– Spicy Raspberry Gin
– Fat washed Bourbon
The amateur physicists at the “just-us” bar also produce all syrups used for cocktails themselves. In addition to classics like coconut, grenadine, and elderflower syrup, there are also true experiments like roasted onion or ginger syrup. The slogan of the spa town, “Bad Salzhausen – Source of Life,” takes on a completely new meaning. As a special highlight, the hotel welcomes you to its Fusion Bar with regular events and specials.
